It is as if the constant acceleration imposed by this age meant that one could only perceive the movement, but not the cause. With this nagging sensation, the idea took shape to experiment with a trap: a rope stretched tautly across this insane race without foreseeing what might happen. This was the beginning of Storie per corse. The installation set was as follows: a series of monitors arranged horizontally on the ground, placed side by side to form a moving walkway into which the elusive images are channelled, a flow that travels from one television to the next, and of which one can only determine the direction of movement. An unceasing pace that is suddenly interrupted as soon as this movement is crossed by unexpected apparitions. Tripping up on the incident, the “speed” is frozen into a single luminous path. Then, in this interrupted image stream, a figure becomes recognisable, it detaches itself from the path and through a slow sequence of images faded in and out with two slide projectors, it is released into the environment.
