The story that inspired this show is a part of the Racing Stories project and takes place in a thick bamboo scenery that in a wonderful, disturbing way, imprisons images without ever giving them entirely back. The stage is crossed by a luminous sign, a long path of horizontal monitors on which different routes slide. The screens offer the story of Orpheus, whose singing had tamed gods, men, wild animals, and things.

Orpheus pursuits Eurydice, descends into the underworld and finally walks the long white road that crosses darkness on his return. When he turns back to look at his wife as he leads her out of the underworld, the image vanishes.

The race of Orpheus is a metaphor for man’s race in his constant search for a direction in the maze of contemporary life, in a continuous movement that often requires to wonder why you are moving at all.
