Workshop-Videoenvironment for fresco

Venice, Palazzo Fortuny, 1986

It is an installation built around the use of synchronised moving lights and video projectors. In the frescoed Venetian studio of Mariano Fortuny, these blades of light attempt to bring back to life the painted figures and landscapes like an illusory trompe-l’oeil effect. Through the strong relationship with the decorated space, reiterated in the relationship with the external city or with painted matter itself, a project shared by many people gradually took shape during this workshop in Venice.
