The old pond, oh! – a frog leaps in –that watery sound”. The first video environment is created like a haiku: a number of videos have been placed in a space cloacked in semidarkness, with lights grazing the ground, focused on the objects on show, objects that these videos “transform into image”. Each screen is treated like a miniature theatre in which the real object is reflected, with the aim of setting up an ongoing interrelationship between the space within the screen and the one outside it, between the physical stillness of the object and the changing nature of the represented image. A path strewn with minor deceptions, a way of highlighting the expressive use of the video medium.
